SA20 League 2025 starting from January 9

The excitement for Cricket South Africa’s T20 League is back as the third season of the SA20 gets underway on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The opening match features two-time defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on MI Cape Town at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. Tournament Overview This year’s SA20 will feature six teams vying for the coveted trophy over the next month. The tournament begins with a league phase consisting of 30 matches, followed by the playoff round, which includes four matches: Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, the Eliminator, and the Final.

All six teams will play matches at their respective home venues this season, with the league welcoming fresh faces. Among the newcomers are former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, as well as modern-day greats Kane Williamson from New Zealand and Joe Root from England.

The competition promises thrilling action, featuring top international stars alongside emerging local talents, ensuring interest from fans both in South Africa and worldwide.
