The 15th edition of the men’s Big Bash League (BBL|15) is set to deliver another summer of non-stop cricket, featuring blockbuster clashes, star overseas players and widespread broadcast coverage across Australia.
When Does BBL|15 Start?
BBL|15 gets underway on Sunday, December 14, marking a historic first as the season opener follows the Weber WBBL Final the very next day.
The tournament will once again begin at Optus Stadium, where Perth Scorchers host the Sydney Sixers in a highly anticipated opening match. The clash between the league’s two most successful franchises will start at 4:15pm local time (7:15pm AEDT).

Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi will face off when Melbourne Renegades host Brisbane Heat in Geelong on Monday night

Tournament Format and Schedule
As in the previous two seasons, each team will play 10 matches during a 40-game regular season, running from December 14 to January 18.

Qualifier: January 20 (Top two teams)
Knockout: January 21 (Third vs fourth)
Challenger: January 23
Final: January 25
The Qualifier winner advances directly to the Final, while the loser gets a second chance in the Challenger.
